Knowledge & Skill

This position requires an advanced knowledge of analytical chemistry, preferably holding Ph.D. in Chemistry or another technical area or equivalent experience, to provide information to customers and employees as well as to implement new services. Knowledge of other technical disciplines statistics or product development techniques, is desirable. A general knowledge of business, finance, budgeting and sales and marketing is necessary to have a better insight in how to gain new business and successfully maintain current customers. A general knowledge of personal computers is necessary to track laboratory information and produce documents to support the management function. A general knowledge on how to review analysis results and correct any discrepancies. Analytical skills are needed to problem solve and fulfill customer's analysis needs. Strong oral and written communication skills are required for effective customer and employee contact. Customer relation skills are needed to obtain and provide information to the customer. Strong management skills, obtained from previous supervisory experience, are necessary to insure that the department runs smoothly. Planning skills are essential to maintain efficient operations.
